Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
These terms govern your use of Hive, including browsing the site, submitting a buyer dataset request, signing up as a contributor, and uploading task submissions. They are written in plain language and may be updated before paid contributor tasks go live.
Use of the platform
You agree to provide accurate information, keep login access secure, and use the platform only for lawful purposes. We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service or harm other users.
Buyer dataset requests
When you submit a request, you understand that Hive evaluates feasibility, consent, and operations before any collection program begins. A request does not guarantee pricing, timeline, or delivery until confirmed in writing by us.
Contributor signup and submissions
Contributors must only upload data they personally created or have the legal right to provide for the task. Fake, copied, or misleading submissions are prohibited. You must follow task instructions and any format or quality rules stated for each task.
Prohibited content in uploads
Unless a task explicitly allows it under clear instructions, uploads must not include minors, private addresses, phone numbers, financial data, medical data, government IDs, or other sensitive personal information. Violations may result in rejection and loss of eligibility for payment.
Approval before payment
Payment is only made for submissions that pass review and are approved for payment according to our internal process. Listing a task payment amount does not guarantee you will earn that amount if your submission is not approved.
Task availability
We do not guarantee that tasks will be available, that you will be selected for a task, or that tasks will remain open for any period of time.
Review and rejection
We may reject submissions that do not meet instructions, quality standards, or legal and safety requirements. Review decisions are described in the product where possible (for example status on your submissions view).
Changes
We may update these terms as the product matures. Continued use after notice means you accept the updated terms where allowed by law.
This is an initial platform policy and may be updated before paid contributor tasks go live.
